Phony matters

I recently talked with my cell phone provider, yeah, the one that tries to say everything. I have been having problems with my phone charger. The past couple of months I have had to maneuver my cord around and it would beep to the charge. However, this week I am not getting any kind of charge whatsoever. Also recently I have the opportunity to use a cell phone that my work is offering me. This is good, but my contract does not end until two more months.
So today I go to one of the outlets in the mall and see what my options are...Apparently not many. The person at the counter type me if I stopped the account I would have to pay the termination fee. Her recommendation was for me to wait it out. I called on the phone and talked with a service representative to work out something. I shortened the amount of my minutes because I have access to the other phone. I do not want to pay another $20 more a month.
Well anyway, back to the charger. I went to another store of the sell phone provider to see what they could do about the charger. The representative told me that the chargers only have a year warranty. So they was nothing I could do but spend $30 on a new charger. Needless to say I am not paying more for a charger than I will be paying for my cell service.
The thing that bugs me is that I have only two more months on my contract and if I broke it then it would be $200. I mean why cannot they prorate or whatever it is they do to make the termination fee less. Sure, they get people to cancel on them sooner. However, I pay my bill on time and have been for over a year. I think that the year mark should be when they start the lessening of the termination fee. For example, since I have two months left the termination fee would be the two months bill. Oh well I know that is wishful thinking and that I am not in charge of the world. Apparently, I am like my charger without any power.
