I have to hand it to you. Food, money, fussy baby.
If you suffer through my blog, then you probably ready Wendy's blog. You know through her beautiful way to tell and a story that we had some friends come to our area. It was a pretty good weekend.
Before we met our friends Saturday morning we went grocery shopping to have something to prepare for dinner. We never really keep much in the house, especially by the time the weekend comes. I doubt they would want a pop tart for dinner. Wendy thought it would be a good idea to get a lasagna, bread, salad, and dessert. So we found the lasagna. It was a good size so we could have leftovers. We found the bread. We pick up brownie mix and vanilla ice cream. Of course we have to pick up more oil. That is how shopping is, you go to pick up one thing and have to pick up several. Then we picked up the salad. So we have everything for a quick and easy meal.
We met yesterday morning at a restaurant not known for its expedient service. However, I did not notice anything amiss. The food was not bad. Two pluses for a restaurant. While there a young woman came up to the table. I thought she was part of the wait staff, but no. She was a balloon artist. She wanted to know if anyone wanted a balloon animal. So Caroline and Paul got one for their daughter, Sharon. They said a turtle would be cool. So the young woman made a turtle. I have never seen a balloon artist in a restaurant. If you think about it is pretty interesting. It is a neat way to earn extra money. I doubt she gets tips as much as she would like, but do we get as much money as we like?
After breakfast we go buy (okay just browsing) a store that has a baby section. Wendy loves to look at what suppliers have to offer to baby Joy. Caroline and Paul had good advice on what to look for and avoid since they have recently experienced what we will go through in a couple of months. It was a fun shopping time for me because I did not have to spend any money.
Then we came back to our house. We just sat around and talked. Then we went out for a walk. Ate dinner. Talked some more. Passed around Sharon. Caroline, Paul, and Sharon left around 9:30. You are probably saying, "Why did you mention in two sentences what happened for eight hours and what took an hour you blabbed on all that space?" I say can you not sum up your 8 hour workday with a sentence or word?
It was a good weekend. We had decent food. Saw decent friends. Learned a lot about what will be coming to us in a few months. Now we have a day to rest.
