I cannot remember if I have already used that title or not.
Last night was not a good night for me and technology.
First Wendy and I were going to watch a movie we received through Netflix. I put the disc in the player. After a few moments of nothingness, it tells me cannot play disc. I take out the disc and wipe it off. I put it back in the machine. Nothing and then the same message. I take out the disc and it looks like there is a groove not supposed to be there. Wendy takes a look and feels that the disc is bent. Netflix is beginning to hurt my feelings. This is the second mishap in two movies. Just the other day Couples Retreat was in the queue. They sent Observe and Report in the Couples Retreat sleeve.
The next thing to set me off involved the thermostat. Wendy decided it was time to turn on the air since it was 90 degrees outside. She did not sleep that well because of the heat. So I switch the thermostat from heat to cool. The cooling icon comes on. The outside unit comes on, but the fan does not come on. This is a digital thermostat we recently acquired. We installed along the time right before the cool weather. So I know the heat works. I had to get some help in installing it. I could not figure out how to put the wires in.
I have a feeling the wires are right. So I went to the panel and flipped the switch on and off. Still the same result. Everything would come on except the fan. The fan would come on in the on position, but I only want the fan on when it is needed. So I check the wires and they seem to be right. Just out of curiosity I switch some of the wires. Then the fan worked on auto, but the outside unit did not come on.
Needless to say I was not happy last night. I was hot under the collar and not because of the heat. I am going to get some input about this. I did find a number to call on the manual. When I called it last night they had already closed for the day.
I do not know why it is not working right now. I may not be able to figure it out myself, but I will certainly ask someone. It will be solved one way or another. Even if I have to pry the solution out of my cold dead hands.
