To Be TV?

If you are reading this, then like me you have found nothing to watch on television. What has happened to our tv shows? "Are you saying that you don't get enough of 24 hour news (subtracting the same story they repeat), infomercials and paid programs?"
Don't forget the "reality tv shows"? I am not a big fan of these shows. If I wanted to see people do stupid stunts, then I would get on the interstate. I thought the purpose of tv was to escape out of the humdrum of a daily existence.
Hmmm? Maybe that is why people enjoy this "reality shows." These shows are someone's reality and you the viewer can be a part of it. It gives our culture today something to strive for..."I can eat more slugs than this guy. Give me 5ooo dollars." I hear it helps if you put a little ketchup on them.
One show that gets on my nerves is NBC's Deal or No Deal. The premise is one person calls out numbers and beautiful women open a suitcase. The contestants hope to win a million dollars. Apparently the contestant tries to get rid of the small numbers and leave the big numbers. Every so often a shadowed person in a booth offers the contestant money. More often than not, the contestants friends shout random things and the contestant rejects the offer of an obscene amount of money to open more cases. Then the contestant tries for it all and ends up with some meager amount. I guess the thing that bugs me is that these people have all this money for doing nothing, no matter how hard they try to lose it, and yet they reach for more when the odds seem against them. I suppose I should lighten up on them, it would be hard to think with people screaming in your ear. I do know one industry that is benefiting from this show...the briefcase industry.
Well readers, I say go for the gold or slugs (whichever show you prefer). Watch what you want watch, cheer for that bozo without his shirt on, yell at that somebody who lost half a millon dollars. Who knows? You might be on tv yourself and somebody watching you.
I gotta go and watch some former tv star sell a show about newscasters kissing a briefcase full of snapping turtles.

Jon-Jon-Jon what TV shows do you like to watch? I know what you mean about reality TV shows. But maybe if it was me on the show it would be different. I personally like to watch 24, The O.C., Dancing with the Stars, Wife Swap & American Idol. Don't even mention soap operas because I absolutely HATE them.
