Greetings all you furniture friends
Yesterday was a productive day in our humble house. We washed dishes (or the dishwasher did), washed three loads of clothes (once again the machine), moved furniture and straightened up the house (okay, that was us). Wendy had the update bug yesterday. She entered a spare room we have that had become the wreck room. So she decided a shelf system must be attained so order will follow.
We went to several stores, but did not find exactly what we were looking for. First, we went to Big Lots. They had something that could function in our house, but it was a little more than we wanted to pay. So we went on to Target, nothing, Home Depot, nothing, and Lowes, where we found what we (namely Wendy) was looking for.
Wendy wanted the cube style of shelves. She had seen the little cube style fabric boxes and decided they were perfect for our materials. Lowes had a nine compartment cubed piece less than Big Lots. They also had the fabric boxes Wendy was looking for. So we made our purchase and returned home.
Of course once home we had to put the piece together. I am not really a handy type person. Fortunately this piece of furniture was not too difficult to put together. Primarily because Wendy knew how to read the instructions. It was a basic setup and did not require any tools, but a screwdriver.
So we got the piece constructed and put into place. Wendy organized the room to a way that looks 100% better. It looks like a completely different room. We even switched out a chair that was in the room. It was work, but we got it done. I am not much of a furniture mover.
I know why movers charge so much money because it is hard work. It takes more brain and brawn than I have. It is also hard to put together furniture. It looks very daunting when you open that box and see all those boards and screws. You look at the pieces in front of you and the finished illustration on the box and think, "Now what?!"
Another thing I don't understand is why furniture is so expensive. I mean the demos look great in the store, but it is about four separate pieces. You think boy that piece looks great, but wait I have to buy four things to get it to look like that. I guess it is true, it is all about the accessories.
