Hello all you paper and plastic users
Recently our town received new recycle containers. When we first moved to the area it was the small green containers, maybe about 18 gallons. Ah, get it...green. They were pretty selective about what they wanted to recycle. It was the usual plastic bottles, cans, and newspapers. The pickup people would pick it up every week along with our usual trash.
Now we have been given about a 40 gallon recycling bin. It is very similar to the trash rolling cart. This time it is brown. I guess because the trash container is already green. The recycling is now picked up every other week. Which is fine with us because we do not use that much. The most I usually would recycling is newspapers.
The good news is now the town is able to recycle a lot more materials. At least they are telling they can. Now any cans can be taken, the all self-important junk mail (I was trying to recycle that anyway), and most important to me are the chipboard boxes. For example the cereal boxes and the like. Wendy and I use a lot of those boxes. I had always wondered why they were unable to recycle them before. I am glad they added them to approved list. I forgot that foil can now be recycled. Another good thing.
It is a good feeling to me to be able to recycle my refuse whether than let it sit there. I try to recycle what I can to limit my trash outtake. If you ask impolitely Wendy will be sure to turn you the lengths I go to as I try to reuse. I am not as extreme as a fanatic, maybe I am a supporter in the basement. I know the majority will not get that joke, but I think it is funny. That is the beauty of recycling...taking one thing and making it into another.
