Greetings all you natural lovers
Wendy and I are house sitting for some friends of ours. Sit, stay, good house. The house happens to be in a pretty quiet neighborhood with pastures and trees. Our fiends primarily want us to look after their dog, Rustey and cat Kittey-Belle. Both are easy to take care of. Normally just feed, walk, and pet the dog. The cat we just have to make sure she has food.
I was out walking Rustey last night around 8:00 pm. With the long days of summer it was not dark yet. The house has a circular driveway. Rustey and I were coming up the right side of the circle. Suddenly, Rustey spins around and starts barking. I turn around and look to see a deer standing near the trees lining the other side of the driveway. The deer looks at us briefly. Sees that we are not much of threat and goes back to doing whatever it was doing before. Rustey and I watch the deer for about a minute. Then deer runs to the pasture across the road and leaps over the fence.
I am glad that I met the deer from a far instead of with a car.
